1965 Plymouth Belvedere Satellite convertible

The Plymouth Satellite was the top model in Plymouth's mid-size Belvedere line 1965.

The Satellite body styles was available only as a sporty 2-door hardtop or as a convertible and came standard with 273-cu-in. V-8, optional choices were the "318' V-8, an optional "361" Commando V-8, "383" Commando V-8, or "426" Commando V-8. Total model year production for the 1965 Plymouth Satellite Convertible was 1,860 units. The convertible weighing 3,325 lb and costing $2,827 and Offered with bucket seats and center console as standard.

This 1965 Plymouth Satellite Convertible was not in the I Spy (1965 TV series) which ran for three seasons on NBC from 1965 to 1968 but it closely resembles that convertible.

The famous 426 Hemi was offered in only a handful of 1965 Satellite, but was made a regular option in 1966.

The Satellite in the picture have a 361 Commando V-8/2bbl, 727 automatic driving a 2.76 rear end, Over 1,000,000 miles. Options include: dash clock, tinted windows, bumper guards and standard equipment included front bucket seats, deluxe wheel covers, deep pile carpeting, right & left sun visors and automatic convertible top that is electrically operated.

The Satellite wheelbase 116 in, overall length 203.4 in, overall width 75.6 in, overall height 55.3 in, and tires size 7.35 x 14.


The famous 426 Hemi was offered in only a handful of 1965 Satellite, but was made a regular option in 1966. I think only 21 factory 426 Wedge Satellite Convertible built in 1965,
